Stoner with a Boner – Reviews

Stoner with a boner (It’s a Long Story)

Stoner-cover copy image

Written in a loose, free-wheeling prose that mimics the narrator’s lifestyle, the story glides from woman to woman and bong hit to bong hit without the burdens of plot or conflict.

… a memorable sexual escapade.

By Kirkus Reviews Dec. 2012

A very unexpected delightful tale, written in the male perspective by a woman- and a well done perspective in erotica as it mixes drug culture, personal preferences, and sex.

***** Bad Boy With Good Manners   June 14, 2012

This book could have been my life… A jumble of words mixed in between parties, sexual experiences, quiet solitary moments and reflection upon life while under the influence. There were certain things about the character that struck home, tendencies of my past that stay with me today…

The story flows well, even though you have no real idea where you are on the time space-continuum. But that is all right, because when you are focused on two primary needs for your life, time has no relevance… you find yourself in the here and now.
Which is where the story begins.
The writer has an excellent vocabulary so you enjoy the philosophical effervescence of the main character… the guy you want at your party… and keeps you focused on the small pieces of the bigger picture that give the character his style.
This is a book to be savored like a good bottle of wine. You don’t gulp it down; you enjoy it in sips.

And then you start changing the sheets on your bed more frequently.

GoodReads.com from Patty   Nov 2014:

I received this book free through Goodreads First Reads.

This is the first time I have read this author. I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the narrative aspect of it. I found it humorous and found myself laughing out loud on occasion, as at times it reminded me of my youth.

I received this book through a giveaway on Goodreads. It is the first time that I read this genre of book and this author. I usually am not a fan of memoirs, but I ended up quite enjoying it. Even though it was not my type of books, I thought that the author had a beautiful writing style.

I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading memoirs and getting the vision of a young man on life, drugs and relationships through a bunch of memories of his own.

I have trouble thinking a woman actually wrote this. It’s a bit stupid and self-absorbed. I picked it up 3 times but didn’t get past the halfway point and started skipping around (as the promo invited me to do), but it didn’t get any better. One guy’s random thoughts that didn’t warrant my time. Kind of like a trailer for a bad movie, where they show you the 2 or 3 best parts which are minimally interesting and it doesn’t get any better than that.
